About

My name is Kenneth Vendler and I am a technologist and oil painter. I grew up in rural northern Kentucky on a small farm about an hour north of Lexington. I met my wife over twenty-five years ago through this thing called the internet.

Technology has been a passion of mine since I got my first computer in 1999. (Cyrix MII 366 MHz/6GB hard drive/32 MB RAM/Windows 98). I am an advocate for Open Source software as well as digital privacy. Current interests of mine include AlpineLinux, FreeBSD, BigFix Relevance and ActionScript, MermaidJS, and Rust.

Growing up on PBS, I was introduced to Bob Ross and Bill Alexander, who ignited my interest in landscape oil painting. I have been painting for about thirty years. If you are interested in seeing some of my work, please click the Art link above.
